Our new album was inspired by three things - firstly Vicky bought a banjo and secondly Dee rediscovered the Synth and third we had some live sessions with percussionist Danny Bryan. The sessions were an inspiration, as we improvised with Danny the music took on a mesmeric life of its own. It was as if we went into a trance when playing. We listened back and realized we had the basis of an album, Danny laughed and said ‘Hey man that is Hillbilly Trance’ and that is how it got its name. Dee added synth and some bass, Alan Glen added harmonica, Nick Newall came in with flute and there it was. Along the way we added our stretched out version of Morning Dew and there you have it ‘Hillbilly Trance’
